Interviews

For this project, the students conducted interviews with people of all ages who have some connection to Cuba.

They utilized many different methods of interviewing. Interviewing by phone. telephone and email were successful, however the students found that interviewing someone by using a real-time chat program was the most effective method.

The students loved interviewing in person because they could react immediately and ask more questions based on the info the interviewee gave them... but they found transcribing the interview to be a difficult task.

They appreciate e-mail interviews for that reason, they didn't have to transcribe anything, the entire interview was already in a digital format, but they felt they lost the spontaneous questioning they enjoyed while interviewing people in person.

By using instant messenger, a real time chat program, they were able to interact with their interviewee and and have a more conversational interview, yet have the entire interview in a digital format.
