In conjunction with its unique and world-renowned artist residency program, the Mattress Factory presents ongoing forums, artist talks, workshops and performances that illuminate new work created by in-residence artists. Public programs encourage audiences to examine the relevance of creativity in everyday life and to explore the ideas and issues that surround the creation and presentation of contemporary art. They also provide deeper inquiry into our special exhibitions and permanent collections and support the themes and concepts prevalent in installation art on the whole.
