2013 Community Garden Party

FREE activities for the entire family

Join us at the Mattress Factory for a FREE community day celebrating our neighbors!

Hands-on activities will include screen printing with AIR (Artist Image Resource); an interactive animated collage inspired by Smokey Robinson's Motown hit, "Cruisin'" by the puppeteers from The Schmutz Company; an art-making activity using old vinyl record albums with Assemble, a community space for Arts + Technology; creating work to add to our MoTOWN art installation; and crafting instruments from recycled materials for a noise party.

Throughout the afternoon music will be provided by DJ Andrew Edmonds' Vinyl Showcase, and the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will be on site along with Reading is FUNdamental to share and read with guests. Purchase lunch from the Pittsburgh Taco Truck, participate in theater workshops and impromptu performances by The Zany Umbrella Circus, or hang out with the Allegheny YMCA to watch a screening of Art21: New York Close Up.
