 | Sandra Ramos b. 1969, Cuban El camino de la incertidumbre (The Uncertain Road), 2004 television monitors, mirrored plastic, wood, foam, Christmas lights, DVD videos, audio 500 Sampsonia Way, third floor |
| | | | | The visitor enters a darkened room lit by videos contained in mirrored cylinders hung from the ceiling. The cylinders are configured as the stars in Big Dipper, and Christmas lights in the ceiling remind one of more distant stars. The viewer must stoop and bend to view the videos, while simultaneously walking on the undulating floor coated with foam rubber. A different video can be viewed through each cylinder on themes including the sky, the city, hell, butterflies and the sea. The videos are old engravings animated and incorporated into backgrounds of real images. | |
