Black Ceiba - Elio Rodríguez

Elio Rodríguez (b. 1966 Cuba) is an artist who remakes film posters with black protagonists or leading men in the place of white film stars. He also creates soft sculptures that have erotic references. He graduated from Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in 1989 and has exhibited his prints throughout the world, including at the University of Pittsburgh Frick Fine Arts Gallery. He has been a visiting artist at Tufts University and Harvard University, Boston; and in Buffalo, New York. He is curating this exhibition with Alejandro de la Fuente.
