MARÍA MAGDALENA CAMPOS-PONS Guardarraya (2010)
| María Magdalena Campos-Pons (b. Cuba 1959) work explores the intersection of art and autobiography through photography and installation. She investigates themes of memory, matriarchy, domestic labor, race, femininity and heritage to make her personal stories resonate. She has exhibited internationally in solo shows at MoMA, the Venice Biennale 2001, Johannesburg Biennial, the First Liverpool Biennial, the DakART Biennial in Senegal; most recently the Guangzhou Triennial in China hosted her work. She lives in Boston, where she teaches art at the Boston Museum School.
