Carrie Schneider makes performative photographs and short films. Recent solo exhibitions include the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki, and Galleri KiT, Trondheim, Norway. Awards include Jerome Foundation NYC Film & Video Grant, a fellowship from the Illinois Arts Council, a Joan Mitchell Foundation Residency Grant, a Fulbright Fellowship, and a grant from the Finnish Media Culture Foundation (AVEK). Carrie attended the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and earned her Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University. Carrie lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
