FREE with Museum Admission
Museum Lobby @ 500 Sampsonia Way
Explore what Turrell, Oppenheimer and Kori’s installations all have in common. Work with mini-model installation boxes to explore and create a number of possible “apertures” within the space. Take it further by using a light source to see how light might interact within the space.
Twice a month, on the first and third Saturdays, visitors are invited to participate in a range of art-making activities that illuminate the creative process of in-residence artists. Projects and materials are developed to complement current and ongoing exhibitions. This program is free with museum admission and highly recommended for individuals or families with children of all ages.
Mattress Factory Education and Community progams are made possible by the generous support from the Allegheny Regional Assets District, Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation, Jack Buncher Foundation, Sheila Fortune Foundation, Grable Foundation, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Surdna Foundation.
