    Opening Celebration | Civil Rights and Civil Wrongs

    Civil Rights and Civil Wrongs: South Africa and US opens May 25 in our Monterey Annex. Tavia La Follette's newests "Sites of Passage" project brings artists from Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Pittsburgh together in virtual - and actual - dialogue.

    Inspired by James Turrell, Mini artists will mix color by layering translucent shapes AND create art that glows under blacklight. This interactive learning program is designed for children ages 3-5. FREE for MF Members // $5 for one child + one caregiver. Registration is required.

    MF Members are invited to meet with Pittsburgh-based artist Alisha Wormsley, whose work will be featured in MF exhibition Civil Rights and Civil Wrongs. Alisha uses photography, video, and sculpture to examine collective memories, the synchronicity of time, and racial identity and history.

    Learn about artist-run spaces with Bunker Projects. During ARTLab, participants of all ages are invited to explore, play and experiment with projects inspired by current exhibitions, artists and ideas! This program is FREE with museum admission.
